We entered these pages into a website competition and not only were we short listed, we then went on to receive the silver cup for second place. A group of 10 children went with Mrs. Grant, Ms Gebauer and Mrs. Fountaine to the Russell Hotel in London to receive our prizes.Alongside the cup and certificate, we were presented with £300, an Amazon voucher and lots of Japanese resources - what a fantastic achievement! The Japanese resources will be well used at our weekly Japanese club. These pictures show our day trip to London to collect our prize (including an inevitable visit to McDonalds!!)
In September 2011, one of our Parents started our first after-school Japanese club and our interest in Japanese has continued since then. The club has their own blog.
Click on the link below if you would like to find out about some of the things the children have been doing. If you're a member of the club, try out some of the activities and practice your Japanese! Recently we have had a Japanese and origami after school club which has been very popular, especially our Halloween and Christmas specials.
We thought it would be interesting to learn more about Japan - their way of life and their culture. In the Summer and Autumn terms 2011, the whole school became involved in lots of different activities. Click on each of these to find out more.
We are in the process of starting a link with a school in Tokyo.Mrs. Grant visited Tokyo in the October half term with a group of Headteachers, organised and funded by the Japan Foundation and she met with staff from the Shotoku Gakuen Elementary School, to talk about forming a link. Even our mascot, the Tenbury Toad went to Tokyo and met with representatives from the school! Look out for further news about this new international link.
