‘Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.’
We are the Polar Bear Class and we are so excited to be in KS2!
We are taught by Mrs Reeves and helped by Mrs Salmon, Miss Hughes and Miss Lort every day! We have lots to learn but we are excited to do it. This year we get to try lots of new things like swimming, learning how to play the recorder and speak French!
This year, we start Accelerated Reader. That means after reading our books we get to take part in quizzes to earn points. We watch our sunflower grow and we have a class chart to see how well we are all doing. It can also count how many words you have read, and we can earn certificates for that as well!
Homework includes reading, spellings and POWer projects as usual, but we now have Times Tables Rockstars each week to complete. Children should be reading at least three times a week, practising their spellings and completing 10 minutes of Numbots practise and 10 minutes of Times Tables practise weekly. This is to help with mental arithmetic and the expectations of times tables.
You can find out much more about what we are getting up to in the Polar Bear newsletter each Friday!
